PBE 150: Shallow- Inspired By “A Star Is Born” featuring Flawed Silence

“Tell me somethin’ girl, are you happy in this modern world? Or do you need more? Is there somethin’ else you’re searchin’ for?”

I keep on saying that I’m looking for someone – and I lost track of how many times I’ve said that before.

“I’m falling, in all the good times I find myself, longin’ for change, and in the bad times I fear myself”

I don’t know what I hope to discover – am I running away from change, or heading towards change in oneself?

“Tell me something, boy – aren’t you tired, tryna fill that void? Or do you need more? Ain’t it hard keepin’ it so hardcore?”

And tell me somethin’ else- you say you love me but you don’t, so why is it that you’re messing with me, when you give me a feeling I can’t ignore?

I’m falling, in all the good times I find myself, longin’ for change, and in the bad times I fear myself”

I’m drowning, feeling some kind of way – I’m losing myself and it seems in my pain that you’re finding yourself.

“I’m off the deep end, watch as I dive in – I’ll never meet the ground. Crash through the surface, where they can’t hurt us. We’re far from the shallow now.”

I’ve discovered and I’ve learned that as long as I have you by my side- we’ll carry on somehow. The kingdom will be ours just imagine me and you with crowns.

“In the shallow, shallow, in the shallow, shallow. In the shallow, shallow, we’re far from the shallow now”

Even if we’re treading on layers of shallowness, or drowning in the depths of realism, together, we’ll forge a way forward somehow.

“I’m off the deep end, watch as I dive in – I’ll never meet the ground. Crash through the surface, where they can’t hurt us. We’re far from the shallow now.”

Wearing our crowns, watching from the throne – realizing we’re no longer alone, and now I see that this was always destiny and this is the greatest show so let’s take a bow. Because in the shallows, in the shadows, everything seems a little different but I learned that nothing could ever stop us now.
